Congratulations to the BBC Singers on their 100th birthday! It was fantastic to be a part of their birthday celebrations, and conduct the singers, alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra, at the Barbican.

On 2 October 1924, the BBC Wireless Chorus gave their first performance. Now known as the BBC Singers, they have evolved over the past 100 years to become trailblazers in choral music from multiple genres and given numerous world premiere performances, as well as collaborating with the finest orchestras, conductors and artists from around the world.
The BBC Singers do such important work in terms of commissioning and education, and programming works from a diverse array of composers and the artists they work with. They should be cherished and supported to continue to create in the years to come.
