Owain has been chosen as the winner of Reverie’s inaugural Young Composers Competition in association with the international publishing company, Edition Peters Ltd. A setting of W.B. Yeats’ poem, ‘The Mother of God’, this piece draws inspiration from an eclectic range of composers such as Britten, Finzi, Debussy and Leighton.
The competition was judged by an esteemed panel including Philip Lawson, Ben Parry , Robin Tyson and Reverie’s Associate Composer, Toby Young. Alongside its world premiere at Reverie’s annual Friends and Patrons Concert at the Swiss Church in London on 5th June 2014 (see more details here), his composition will be offered publication subject to agreement with Edition Peters Ltd.
