As part of the inaugural Summer Recital Series at St Cuthbert’s church in Wells, Owain accompanied Helen Briggs in a programme of songs for Soprano and Piano, including Britten’s realisation of Purcell’s ‘The last rose of summer’, and Ivor Gurney’s ‘Sleep’. Other works included two pieces by Poulenc, ‘C’, from ‘Deux Poèmes de Louis Aragon’, and ‘Fleurs’, the sixth piece in the set ‘Flançailles pour rire’. The next concert in the series will feature Owain singing Britten’s ‘Canticle IV: Journey of the Magi’ with Iain-Macleod Jones (Tenor) and Andrew Mahon (Bass), accompanied by Jonathan Vaughn.
