As part of the St Andrew’s day 10am Eucharist, the Wells Cathedral Choristers, Choral Scholars and Wells Cathedral School Chapel Choir perform Owain’s ‘St Andrew’s Service‘ for the first time. Jonathan Vaughn, Organ; Matthew Owens, Conductor.
The Wellensian Consort perform a largely unaccompanied programme of challenging and amazing choral music, focusing on contemporary choral repertoire in the Cadogan Hall.
Owain gave a lunchtime recital as part of the Wells Cathedral Lunchtime Recital Series. The programme included Karg Elert’s ‘Sequence in a minor, Frank’s ‘Pièce Heroique’ and Messiaen’s “Dieu Parmi Nous’.
Owain is currently away with a small group of Wells Cathedral School students, teaching and performing over Sierra Leone (read more here). On the Monday he gave an organ recital in St George’s Cathedral, Freetown.
The Wellensian Consort’s ‘Let the Peoples Sing’ concert performance is broadcasted on BBC Radio 3’s ‘The Choir’, presented by Aled Jones.

Owain has been awarded the Senior Organ Scholarship to Wells Cathedral, beginning in September 2012 for one year. Afterwards, he will take up the Organ Scholarship to Trinity College Cambridge in 2013, studying music.
The Wells Cathedral School Symphony Orchestra are joined by the WCS Chapel Choir and Junior Choir to perform twenty famous film soundtracks in a movie marathon.

The Choir of Westbury on Trym Parish Church have recorded Owain’s ‘Confirmation Prayer‘ on their new disc, ‘All Times and Seasons’. It will be released in December. David Ogden, Conductor; Richard Johnson, Organ.
The Event on the Lawn – charity concert in aid of SL2 (Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka Charities) was compered by Owain, who also sang as part of the ‘A Kappella’ group, performing Beatles and Queen numbers.
Owain has been awarded the Trinity College Cambridge Organ Scholarship, and, grades-dependent, will take this up in 2013, studying music.
Pegasus, the London Chamber choir, performed ‘Let Thine Heart‘ in the Temple Church, London on the 17th September, 2011.

‘Nunc Dimittis‘, a setting of the Song of Solomon for SATTBB is premiered in Keble College Chapel, Oxford, by participants of The Organ Scholar Experience 2011 at a service of compline, with Owain conducting.
2nd – 7th August 2011: TOSE in Oxford Owain is a participant of The Organ Scholar Experience course, run by the RCO in Oxford. He received tuition from world-class organists, such as David Goode, Daniel Hyde, and Clive Driskill-Smith.
