I’ve composed a new psalm chant for “The Gift of This New Day”, a collection of the most-requested pieces featured at Morning Prayer across the different seasons of the church year.
These include pieces based on well-known sacred music in the public domain – from Hildegard of Bingen to Rachmaninov. Alongside this, are five new works commissioned specifically for this new album from St Martin’s Voices, conducted by Andrew Earis – each aiming to create a space for spiritual reflection.
My triple chant accompanies words from Psalm 63, titled A Song of God’s Praise.
In addition to the album, there is also a sheet music book available too: an anthology of over 30 canticles, psalms, and responses found in the Common Worship Daily Prayer and featured in Time to Pray, the daily prayer app.
