On the 27th April 2013 at 7.30pm, The Mid-Wessex Singers’ present a spring concert containing two great choral works, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Rutter’s Requiem, written nearly 300 years apart, which both offer a different reflection on the period of Lent and Easter. The choir and orchestra will be conducted by Owain, and there will also be the opportunity to enjoy Pachelbel’s famous Canon in D.
The concert will be held in St Mary’s Church, Huish Episcopi cum Langport, an atmospheric Grade I listed building, only a few miles from Somerton.

The choir will be joined by prodigious musicians from several of the UK’s leading music colleges, including the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Royal College of Music, the Guildhall and the Royal Academy of Music, as well as Wells Cathedral School. The vocal soloists will be Naomi MacLeod-Jones (soprano) and Stephen Harvey (alto).
